Special Counsel Drops Bombshell: FBI Agents ‘Apologized’ For Trump-Russia Investigation

(Liberty Bell) – The weaponization of the FBI, DOJ and other government agencies is a real tragedy for America. Not only has it completely delegitimized these institutions but its put rank-and-file workers in the crosshairs.

On Wednesday, Special Counsel John Durham told the House Judiciary Committee that there were a number of FBI agents who “apologized” to him over the Crossfire Hurricane investigation regarding allegations of President Trump’s collusion with Russia from 2016 to 2019.

Durham was tasked with investigating the origins of the Russia collusion narrative as Special Counsel. The entire thing turned out to be a hoax and Durham was able to confirm this through his investigation.

Many of the FBI agents interviewed by Durham were ashamed of the work done in that investigation and several apologized to him for their own conduct. Something Durham stated he takes “very seriously” as we all should. There are good and honorable men and women still working at the FBI who are at odds with the rogue upper management who control the agency.

“Let me give you some real-life views: I have had any number of FBI agents…who have come to me and apologized for the manner in which that investigation [Crossfire Hurricane] was undertaken. These are good, hard-working, decent people,” Durham asserted in response to a question by Republican Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana, who asked about Durham’s opening testimony where he said that the conclusions of his report were “sobering.”

Durham also touched on another instance in which FBI agents expressed regret over the investigation. While speaking with Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Durham noted that the Supervisory Special Agents of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation “became emotional” when shown a memorandum about the Hillary Clinton campaign’s efforts to promote the idea Russia was supporting Trump, which then-FBI Director James Comey did not share with them.

“We interviewed the first supervisor…the operational person. We showed him the intelligence information. He indicated that he’d never seen it before. He immediately became emotional. Got up and left the room with his lawyer. Spent some time there before he came back,” Durham remarked.

“He was ticked off, wasn’t he? He was ticked off because this was important information that he should have had working on the case…that the FBI Director kept from him while working on the investigation,” Jordan asked.

“The information was kept from him,” Durham replied.

The Daily Caller reports:

“The intelligence about the Clinton campaign’s promotion of the idea that Russia was supporting Trump was serious enough for then-CIA Director John Brennan to brief President Barack Obama about Clinton’s plan. That briefing was attended by then-Vice President Joe Biden, Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Comey, with the intelligence being packaged into a ‘Referral Memorandum’ that he and then-Assistant Director Peter Strzok obtained.

Apart from agents involved in the case, Comey and Strzok, neither shared the information with the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court when seeking Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants for domestic surveillance of investigation targets nor shared them with government lawyers preparing warrant applications to the court, per testimony before the committee.”

Durham’s report ultimately found that the FBI’s decision to open an investigation into Trump failed to maintain “strict fidelity to the law.”

The findings were a dagger to the left who have insisted Trump colluded with Russia with some top Democrats even contending Trump was a Russian agent. There are still Democrats who refuse to concede that the entire thing was one big hoax courtesy of Hillary Clinton.

What this lie did to the US is reprehensible. Those responsible should be held accountable.
