(Liberty Bell) – The anti-Trump crowd has, for some time now, seemingly lacked any real semblance of mental balance and intelligence, a fact made crystal clear by the actions of an anti-Trump protester who was arrested for running out in front of former President Donald Trump’s motorcade as he drove away from court on Tuesday. Dominic Santana, 61, was sporting a prison suit and carrying around a sign that read, “lock him up,” when he got the bright idea to rush in front of the SUV, according to information contained in a report from the Daily Mail.
A video that was posted on the internet showed Trump’s motorcade going down a street in the city of Miami, where both his supporters and protesters against him were lined up on both sides, when Santana approached the vehicle.
Secret Service agents wasted no time leaping into action, grabbing the protester and shoving him back onto the sidewalk. However, not long after that incident, chaos erupted with people beginning to scream and chase after Trump’s vehicle. It then sped away to safety. That speaks volumes about the mental state of diehard Trump haters, doesn’t it?
“A second video showed Santana on the ground as spectators gathered around him with their phones out. Miami police officers could be seen pushing the crowd back as others led the protester away in handcuffs,” the Daily Mail said.
“The individual was removed swiftly from the roadway by officers from the Miami City Police Department. His actions had no impact on the security of the protective movement, and we thank Miami City Police for their continued partnership,” Special Agent Steve Kopek went on to say in a statement delivered to the outlet.
As of this writing, it has not been made clear whether or not Santana will be charged with any wrongdoing connected with the incident. If nothing else, the guy should probably undergo a mental health evaluation because sane people don’t run out in front of moving vehicles.
“Santana had been pictured earlier in the day standing on the sidewalk with his sign as former President Trump arrived in federal court for his arraignment,” the piece continued.
He actually gave a quote to the Miami Herald saying, “This guy [Trump] has been the biggest con in American history. He got away with it and enough is enough with all the lies… he should be locked up [a] long time ago.”
The same man was later seen getting into an argument with one of Trump’s supporters.
“Santana’s stunt was one of the highest-profile incidents on Tuesday for crowds that gathered at the Miami courthouse for his arraignment on federal charges in a case involving the handling of classified documents,” the Daily Mail stated. “Protestors and supporters of the former president gathered at the courthouse hours before the 3 pm arraignment. Videos showed members of both sides yelling and a few arguments, but there were few reports of violence and no reported arrests before Santana.”
During the morning hours before the arraignment, local police had to close down a block located outside of Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. United States Federal Courthouse due to a report concerning a suspicious package. A bomb squad was called and officers worked to restrain the crowd while the object was being investigated. It was eventually given the all-clear.
Officials in Miami revealed they had made preparations to handle crowds ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 in the area the day of the arraignment.
Trump pleaded not guilty to a total of 37 federal counts made against him concerning alleged mishandling of classified documents discovered at his Florida residence during a raid conducted by the FBI.
