The Fed raising interest rates will fail to end inflation since businesses will pass on the added expense of increased borrowing costs onto their consumers.

If the Fed wants to end inflation they have to stabilize the money supply. The expanding money supply is what causes inflation. Of course congress controls the purse strings, and deficit spending increases the money supply also. Many complain about wage inflation, but nobody ever complains about stock market inflation, ( bubbles) in fact, they demand bail outs which have inflationary effects, and is the crux of the problem from my perspective. It is really revolting and disgusting to listen to Wall Street investors reaping the benefits tax payer subsidized bail outs and insisting on free market capitalism when it comes to wages for employees and many even oppose the minimum wage. Of course it is also unreasonable for someone that has a job at say, a fast food restaurant to be able to expect to feed, house, clothe, educate, and provide healthcare for a family of four. All jobs are not intended to be head of household jobs, and it is unreasonable to expect them to be. Those jobs are intended for secondary income like part time jobs for women or students, not head of household bread winners.
