(Liberty Bell) – If you ever watched the nightly exchanges between CNN hosts Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo during the transition between their shows, you’d have thought the two were best of friends.
It turns out that’s not the case, or if it was, it no longer is.
Truthfully, it was only a matter of time before Lemon turned his back on Cuomo. It’s what people like Cuomo and Lemon do. Cuomo no longer serves any purpose in Lemon’s life and therefore he’s expendable.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Lemon made a snarky comment regarding the subject of Cuomo’s severance package from the network during an in-house town hall that took place Monday.
During the meeting, WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar took questions from CNN staffers and much of the session was focused on the departure of former CNN President Jeff Zucker.
Zucker resigned last Wednesday in light of a secret relationship with a top CNN staffer which was exposed through the bitter severance package negotiations between the network and Cuomo, who was fired in December. Looks like Cuomo wasn’t going down alone.
When a question was asked about whether or not CNN was going to pay Cuomo the massive severance package he’s seeking, which the New York Post has reported includes a pay-out of $60 million, Lemon made his comment.
“Did you think about what message it sends to the journalists in the company and also to the larger public that someone can be found to break with those journalistic standards and then get paid handsomely for it?” Lemon asked at the town hall.
Notably, Kilar did not answer the question about paying Cuomo’s severance and the majority of the CNN staffers wanted to focus on Zucker’s sudden resignation.
“There was the possibility of a more imaginative result that would’ve allowed you to keep the captain, instead of throwing the captain overboard while the ship is about to go through icebergs,” Richard Quest, host of the daily show “Quest Means Business” on CNN International, reportedly said during the gathering.
“We don’t understand, in this room, why the death penalty was necessary,” said host Alisyn Camerota, according to Variety, to which Kilar did not respond.
“When are we going to move on? Where are the internal memos? Where is the all-hands meeting?” anchor Brian Stelter said. “Where is the global town hall?”
Kilar, however, did not discuss Zucker’s departure.
“I accepted Jeff’s resignation, and that matter is closed,” Kilar said. “I realize that’s not what you wanted to hear, but that is my answer.”
“There is no one, myself included, that anticipated or would want to be in this situation for CNN, for the company, for the team,” Kilar added.
“I hope everyone knows that, and I’m saying it as loudly and as clearly as I can, but here we are.”
Kilar didn’t apparently have much in the way of answers for his CNN staff but now we know what Don Lemon really thinks of Chris Cuomo whom he appeared to have a good relationship with, at least for the cameras.

The Fed raising interest rates will fail to end inflation since businesses will pass on the added expense of increased borrowing costs onto their consumers.
If the Fed wants to end inflation they have to stabilize the money supply. The expanding money supply is what causes inflation. Of course congress controls the purse strings, and deficit spending increases the money supply also. Many complain about wage inflation, but nobody ever complains about stock market inflation, ( bubbles) in fact, they demand bail outs which have inflationary effects, and is the crux of the problem from my perspective. It is really revolting and disgusting to listen to Wall Street investors reaping the benefits tax payer subsidized bail outs and insisting on free market capitalism when it comes to wages for employees and many even oppose the minimum wage. Of course it is also unreasonable for someone that has a job at say, a fast food restaurant to be able to expect to feed, house, clothe, educate, and provide healthcare for a family of four on income from that job alone. All jobs are not intended to be head of household jobs, and it is unreasonable to expect them to be. Those jobs are intended for secondary income like part time jobs for women or students, not head of household bread winners.
