(Liberty Bell) – Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly has come out and offered a theory about who could be leaking the clips of recently fired host Tucker Carlson, most of which have gone viral over the course of the last few days, suggesting that it might be the woman who is in charge of Fox’s public relations department. The clips have been leaked to both The New York Times, as well as Media Matters.
According to Johnathan Jones of The Western Journal, one clip shows Carlson complaining that the company wouldn’t maintain the streaming platform it started, Fox Nation, on behalf of its customers.
Carlson went on to say in the clip that “nobody watches Fox Nation because the site sucks,” going on to add, “I’m just frustrated with it. It’s hard to use that site. I don’t know why they’re not fixing it. It’s driving me insane.”
I mean, that sounds like a reasonable complaint. Carlson created some high quality documentary projects for Fox Nation. He wants all of the hard work he and his team put into those programs to be seen and enjoyed by the audience he created them for. Not to mention he likely believes the message of those programs to be one that folks need to hear. I don’t think it’s asking too much to make the site more user friendly.
In another clip, Carlson rips into Media Matters.
“It is obvious none of the clips were meant to be seen by the public, and it is unclear how the behind-the-scenes outtakes ended up in the hands of Carlson’s far-left opponents. On her radio show on Monday, Kelly theorized Irena Briganti, Fox’s senior executive vice president for corporate communications, is behind the leaks,” Jones wrote.
“So [Fox News] first leaked to the New York Times,” Kelly stated during an interview conducted with the legendary and some would say, infamous, Libs of TikTok founder Chaya Raichik.
“This is my supposition for the record because it hasn’t been yet confirmed, but I know it is. And I know it’s Irena Briganti who runs comms and f***ing hates Tucker. Sorry. She hates his guts,” Kelly asserted. She then revealed that the feeling of animosity between Briganti and Carlson is “mutual.”
“He doesn’t like her either,” she explained. “None of us do. Nobody likes Irena.”
Kelly then offered up a theory that Fox News will do whatever it takes to stop Carlson from stealing their audience and taking it to another network, should he get a position with, say, Newsmax, or another big time news channel.
She then made the claim, “This is all an orchestrated hit job, in my opinion, and it’s not a subtle one.” Kelly goes on to say during her program that her former network is on a mission to smear Carlson, just for the fun of it.
“Nice try, Fox!” she exclaimed.
“Rolling Stone claimed last week that numerous Fox News sources told the publication Briganti had an ‘oppo file’ she was prepared to use against Carlson if the network felt he was challenging those in command,” Jones noted in his report.
“One source with knowledge calls it an ‘oppo file,’” the outlet declared. “Two sources add that Fox is prepared to disclose some of its contents if execs suspect that Carlson is coming after the network.”
“The file includes internal complaints regarding workplace conduct, disparaging comments about management and colleagues, and allegations that the now-former prime-time host created a toxic work environment, three of the sources say,” Rolling Stone divulged.
Of course, in a comment put out for the story, Fox News is denying they ever put together a file on Carlson. Fox News made the announcement last week that they were parting ways with Carlson in a statement that contained Briganti’s name, along with the name of another employee from the communications department.
“FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the network revealed in a short statement. “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”
