European Leader’s Final Advice Sends Shockwaves: No More Whining About Trump!

(Liberty Bell) – A European leader stated this past weekend that his colleagues need to spend less time being obsessed with former President Donald Trump and more time doing actual work that will improve security in Europe and Ukraine. Well, now, just wait a second, big shot. Do you mean to tell me you expect politicians to, gulp, provide real results and make the lives of their people better? That’s insane. Who would dream up such a thing?

In other words, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte is spot on in his observation. Rutte made the remarks during the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.

“We should stop moaning and whining and nagging about Trump,” he said during the event.

As per The Western Journal, “As president, Trump adopted a tough-love tone with NATO, demanding that governments that were spending far below their promised levels on their own defense start living up to their obligations.”

“A chart posted by Statista.com shows that the U.S. is paying 3.49 percent of the GDP on defense spending, with Poland and Greece the only other NATO nations spending over 3 percent,” the report divulged. “France, for example, spends 1.9 percent of its GDP on defense spending and Germany spends 1.57 percent, the chart showed.”

Rutte then asserted that the role America chooses to play is “up to the Americans. I’m not an American, I cannot vote in the U.S. We have to work with whoever is on the dance floor.”

We as Americans should not have to sacrifice the amount of taxpayer dollars we’re burning through on aid to Ukraine for a war that has zero to do with us. This is a European affair. It’s up to them and their own nations to spend more money on defense, beef up ammunition production and provide additional support for Ukraine. That’s not our job.

“And all that whining and moaning about Trump. I hear that constantly over the last couple of days. Let’s stop doing that,” Rutte remarked. Rutte is backing Trump’s statement and efforts to push Europe into getting better at defending itself instead of depending on help from America to bail them out whenever they get into trouble.

“Trump’s main issue was that we were not spending enough,” Rutte insisted in an interview with Bloomberg last month. “He was right.”

“Trump’s relationship with NATO rocketed back into the news with recent comments Trump made in South Carolina about a conversation he said he had with a NATO nation’s leader, according to Fox News,” the article disclosed.

“NATO was busted until I came along. I said, ‘Everybody’s gonna pay.’ They said, ‘Well, if we don’t pay, are you still going to protect us?’ I said, ‘Absolutely not.’ They couldn’t believe the answer,” he commented.

The former president then noted, “one of the presidents of a big country,” asked him during the meeting if the United States would provide defense for the nation should it be invaded by Russia if they don’t pay. The answer left the individual flabbergasted.

“No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You got to pay. You got to pay your bills,” Trump declared matter-of-factly. This is a basic truth of life. All of us have bills to pay. If you don’t pay your phone bill, you can’t make calls. It’s as simple as that. There’s no such thing as a free lunch. War is expensive.
