(Liberty Bell) – With all of the gaffes piling up on President Joe Biden, his obvious failing mental faculties, and the scandals involving his family, why has he decided to run for a second term? Especially since he’s 81-years-old. Well, Biden has finally revealed the reason and it’s about as childish as it gets. The president indicated that he might have stepped down after one term in office if former President Donald Trump wasn’t running for the White House.
“If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running,” the 81-year-old president said while speaking to a group of Democratic donors in Boston. “But we cannot let him win.”
According to the New York Post, the comments made during a fundraising event were more or less an admission that even Joe Biden himself knows he’s too darn old to be running for political office. Biden is currently the oldest individual to occupy the oval office and if he managed to complete another four years, he would be 86-years-old.
“Critics routinely highlight instances in which Biden appears confused or shares false memories — and several polls this year found that about two-thirds of voters are concerned about Biden’s mental acuity,” the report continued. “Trump, 77, is the heavy favorite for the Republican nomination and polls show him beating Biden due in large part to economic pessimism linked to high inflation and interest rates.”
RealClearPolitics produced an average based on the data from national polls that shows Trump sitting at 46.7 percent, while Biden is at 44.7 percent.
Polling done in swing-states just a month ago by The New York Times divulged that the former president is also taking the lead in critical states such as Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona. While he most definitely is pulling ahead of Biden, and that’s good news, seeing as he’s way ahead of other GOP candidates in the primary, he still has to run the gauntlet of four criminal cases over the course of the coming months, which will have some kind of impact on his campaign, though we can’t say for sure if it will be positive or negative.
“Trump’s first trial is scheduled to begin in March in Washington on federal charges of unlawfully trying to reverse his 2020 election defeat. Later that month, he’s due in Manhattan for trial on falsifying business records charges related to hush money payments during the 2016 campaign,” the Post reported. “Trump’s federal trial for allegedly mishandling national security documents is schedule[d] to begin in May in Miami and his trial on state charges linked to challenging Georgia’s election results is tentatively set for August.”
The piece noted, “Biden also faces variables — such as the possibility that the House of Representatives will impeach him for alleged corruption linked to his son Hunter Biden and brother James Biden’s dealings in countries such as China and Ukraine.”
At the end of the day, this man is running to spite Trump. Sure, he might say it’s a heroic gesture meant to stop the oh so terrible Donald Trump from destroying democracy or some such nonsense, but that’s not true. He just cannot stand Trump and his followers. He wants to aid in protecting the infrastructure the left has put in place so they can continue their gradual transformation of America from a republic into a socialist nightmare.
Let’s hope Republicans are able to put a stop to that.
