(Liberty Bell) – Former President Donald Trump, along with several key members of his staff have come out and slammed claims that have been made by military officials within the Biden administration concerning the recent Chinese spy balloon that was spotted flying over our country. The balloon, which was finally blasted out of the sky on Saturday evening, has been a huge embarrassment for the current commander-in-chief, and has left many Americans worried about potential compromises with our national security.
Writer Bryan Chai, who works for The Western Journal, said “In perhaps an attempt to mitigate both embarrassment and concern, the Biden administration gave a news briefing to address these issues on Saturday, and that’s where the topic of Trump came up.”
“(The People’s Republic of China) government surveillance balloons transited the continental United States briefly at least three times during the prior administration and once that we know of at the beginning of this administration, but never for this duration of time,” a defense official commented.
“Given the general furor this one spy balloon has caused, it was actually quite the claim that there had been multiple spy balloons in the past — let alone ‘at least three’ during the Trump administration,” Chai stated in his report. Have you ever noticed that the main attack the left launches as a means of defending themselves from criticism is to always turn things back around to Trump? Trump has nothing to do with what is happening right now. Can we focus on today instead of four years ago? Thanks.
Trump, a legendary counterpuncher, wasted absolutely no time firing back at the claims made by the Biden administration during an interview with Fox News Digital on Sunday morning.
“This never happened. It would have never happened,” Trump asserted emphatically. Given how strong the former president was when it came to foreign policy, I’d say that China would have never dared to take such a step with him in the White House. Trump would have never tolerated a spy balloon flying over the country. He certainly wouldn’t have allowed it to more or less complete its mission before shooting it down.
Trump then pointed out that while he was in office, China “respected us greatly.”
“It never happened with us under the Trump administration and if it did, we would have shot it down immediately,” Trump went on to say. “It’s disinformation.”
“Trump then tore into the Biden administration, claiming that they were spreading this ‘disinformation’ because ‘they look so bad, as usual,'” Chai’s article continued. “The former president added that the current administration was ‘incompetent.'”
The former president wasn’t the only one denying these claims. Trump’s former national security advisor, John Bolton, also came forward and denied there were spy balloons over the country during the previous administration. And this is coming from a guy who, as of now, doesn’t really get along too well with Trump, so he has no reason to stand up and defend him, which lends a bit more credibility to what he’s saying.
“I don’t know of any balloon flights by any power over the United States during my tenure, and I’d never heard of any of that occurring before I joined in 2018,” Bolton explained. “I haven’t heard of anything that occurred after I left either.”
Bolton then demanded the Biden administration give “specific examples,” of this activity, while also revealing that he refuted the claims with “100 percent certainty,” at least when it comes to his time with the former president.
“Another former Trump national security adviser, Robert O’Brien, also refuted the Biden administration’s claims,” the Western Journal noted.
“Unequivocally, I have never been briefed on the issue,” O’Brien proclaimed.
