(Liberty Bell) – On Thursday, a sullen and defeated looking Joe Biden called on the media companies to end the “misinformation and disinformation” being broadcast from their platforms.
“It has to stop,” he declared, and then called COVID-19 “one of the most formidable enemies America has ever faced,” and implored Americans to “work together.”
What a clown.
The only misinformation are the words coming right out of Joe Biden’s mouth. Nonetheless, the very next day, DirecTV granted his wish and announced they would not be renewing their contract with conservative news outlet One America News Network.

A DirecTV spokesman issued a statement which said, “We informed Herring Networks [parent company of OANN] that, following a routine internal review, we do not plan to enter into a new contract when our current agreement expires.”
Bloomberg News was the first to report this news, “DirecTV, one of the largest U.S. pay-TV providers, plans to drop One America News Network, dealing a major blow to the conservative channel that’s been criticized for spreading misinformation and had a loyal fan in former President Donald Trump,” the report said.
“The satellite-TV provider has notified OAN’s owner, Herring Networks Inc., that it plans to stop carrying the company’s two channels when their contract expires.”
In an email statement to Bloomberg, a spokesman from DirecTV wrote, “We informed Herring Networks that, following a routine internal review, we do not plan to enter into a new contract when our current agreement expires.”
OAN saw great success during Trump’s presidency and after Fox News decided to prematurely call the state of Arizona for Joe Biden during the 2020 election, viewers changed the channel to OAN in droves.
Of course, the decision to drop OAN is going to hurt the network, at least in the short term, as DirecTV is OAN’s largest distributor but it will almost certainly hurt DirecTV as well, which is already struggling.
The Journal reported last October that AT&T “paid $49 billion – about $66 billion including debt” to buy DirecTV in 2015. Last year, AT&T spun off a 30 percent stake in the company to private equity firm TPG for $1.8 billion, realizing a pretty serious loss.
Conservative customers are not likely to take too kindly to the decision to cancel OAN. Especially when it became clear in 2020 that the mainstream news outlets, sometimes even including Fox News, can no longer be trusted to report unbiased news. They can’t even be trusted to report the truth.
During the 2020 election cycle and in the weeks leading up to the election, legacy media outlets and social media ramped up their efforts to censor conservative content to help move the election in Biden’s favor.
One notorious example of this was the establishment media’s refusal to cover the Hunter Biden laptop stories and Facebook and Twitter’s shameless efforts to censor the stories and essentially remove them from their platforms.
The stories broke just weeks before the election in mid-October of 2020 by the New York Post. By this time, Democrats and Big Tech were just focused on hiding the stories. Since then, the media outlets and social media haven’t even tried to pretend to honor the First Amendment.
Censorship has become so normalized it’s widely mocked and joked about across social media platforms.
Anything the radical left doesn’t agree with or want circulating is labeled “misinformation and disinformation” and censored.
This is straight-up communism, folks.
