Sen. Ron Johnson Warns: FBI Twitter Files Corruption Is ‘Tip Of The Iceberg’

(Liberty Bell) – After President Trump won the 2016 election, Democrats vehemently insisted the election was not legitimate because Trump had colluded with Russia in order to win.

Of course, we know the whole Russia-Trump collusion story was never anything more than a giant hoax, in which the FBI was involved.

Now, thanks to Elon Musk and his Twitter acquisition, there is proof that the FBI actively worked with the social media platform in the weeks ahead of the 2020 election with the intention of influencing it.

The FBI is one of the most corrupt institutions in the US and has become nothing more than the political strong-arm of the Democrats.

A sworn declaration from Yoel Roth, Twitter’s former head of site integrity, reveals that the FBI and others in the intelligence community took part in weekly meetings with the social media company ahead of the 2020 election.

“I was told in these meetings that the intelligence community expected that individuals associated with political campaigns would be subject to hacking attacks and that material obtained through these hacking attacks would likely be disseminated over social media platforms, including Twitter,” Roth said, the New York Post reported. “I also learned in these meetings that there were rumors that a hack-and-leak operation would involve Hunter Biden.”

Now Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) is calling on Democrats to join Republicans in investigating the threat posed by a politicized federal law enforcement. His calls for unity come after the latest “Twitter Files” release exposes that the FBI paid Twitter over $3.4 million to aid in undermining Sen. Johnson’s probe into Hunter Biden’s international business dealings.

“The corruption revealed in ‘The Twitter Files’ is only the tip of the iceberg—there’s a much larger story that needs to be uncovered and exposed,” Johnson told The Daily Signal.

Johnson noted that he believes the incoming GOP House Majority will likely investigate the FBI and other federal agencies but urged Democrats to join those efforts.

“I will do everything I can to assist House chairmen leading these investigations. To find as much truth as possible, however, we need Democrats to put aside partisanship and join our efforts,” Johnson said. “Even though the current deep state favors them, Democrats need to understand the threat that politicized federal law enforcement, national security, and intelligence agencies represent to our freedom and democracy.”

“As ranking member on the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, I remain dedicated to delving deeper into these issues and provide the American public information they have a right to know,” he concluded.

Johnson and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) have accused the FBI of working to discredit their investigation into Hunter Biden and his financial ties to foreign governments.

Prior to the 2020 election, on Aug. 6, Grassley and Johnson had a meeting with the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force during which the FBI brought up “information that we already knew and information unconnected to our Biden investigation,” Grassley explained.

He further stated that elements of that meeting were leaked to the press, which Grassley claims resulted in “inaccurate media articles during the course of our investigation which falsely labeled our investigation as advancing Russian disinformation.”

Grassley also contends that despite the FBI having taken possession of the Hunter Biden laptop all the way back in December 2019, whistleblowers have asserted the agency essentially refused to investigate it or any claims that Joe Biden himself was involved with his overseas business dealings, most notably with China and Ukraine.

Some have claimed that the FBI has “pre-debunked” the Hunter Biden laptop allegations and pressured Twitter and other social media platforms to suppress it and label it as foreign “misinformation.”

Earlier this month, the “Twitter Files” provided evidence that the FBI had, in fact, engaged in a campaign to influence the election. According to Twitter documents shared by journalist Michael Shellenberger, Twitter had enough former FBI employees to develop a term for them—“Bu alumn,” for “bureau alumni.”

The Daily Signal reported:

The FBI’s Elvis Chan arranged for temporary top-secret clearances for Twitter executives, and the FBI paid Twitter $3,415,323 between October 2019 and February 2021, reimbursement for Twitter’s work on “LE-related projects,” likely a reference to “law enforcement-related projects.”

The first installment of “Twitter Files” revealed that Twitter executives did not have a good explanation for censoring and suppressing the New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story, but the FBI’s pressure helps explain why Twitter decided to double down “in an abundance of caution.”

It’s nearly impossible to measure the impact of the FBI and Twitter’s influence meddling ahead of the 2020 election, however, a Media Research Center poll conducted in the days after the election found that 36% of self-described Bidem voters declared they did not know about the Hunter Biden laptop stories or that Joe Biden was accused of being involved in his son’s business deals.

Further, 13% of those voters would not have voted for Biden had they known the facts regarding Joe Biden, Hunter Biden and his laptop.

Johnson points out that while the FBI’s political meddling benefits Democrats, every American should be concerned about the politicization of federal law enforcement agencies.

The FBI needs to be gutted and done away with. It’s turned out to be the most corrupt entity in the US and it poses a real threat to freedom, Democracy and conservative Americans.
