Politico Co-Founder So Afraid Of Donald Trump He Says Constitution Must Be REWRITTEN

(Liberty Bell) – There’s a disease that has infected the Democratic Party and many of its ilk in the mainstream media who are in cahoots with them to help fashion narratives that try and force people to think according to the tenets of progressivism instead of allowing them to think for themselves. This disease has a number of symptoms that go along with it, such as hatred of anyone who might think differently than you, foaming at the mouth whenever the name “Donald Trump” is mentioned, a desire to see the utter destruction of anyone who voted for the former president.

I’m talking about Trump Derangement Syndrome. Sure, it sounds like something a person made up as a joke to explain the weird and unusual behavior of leftists when it comes to Donald Trump and how they are willing to twist the truth up like a pretzel to blame him for anything and everything that happens in the country, even the world.

And it seems that the founding editor of Politico, John F. Harris, has a raging case of this mental illness.

According to Fox News, Harris penned a new column on Thursday titled, “The Best Way to Save The Constitution From Donald Trump Is To Rewrite It.”

“Harris claimed that the former president, though ‘a constitutional menace,’ exploited the Constitution’s ‘defects’ in order to hold his position. For the sake of holding back a second Trump term as well as promote several progressive causes, he wrote that working around the Constitution might become a necessity,” Fox News said.

“Correcting or circumventing what progressives reasonably perceive as the infirmities of the Constitution, in fact, seems likely to be the preeminent liberal objective of the next generation. Progress on issues ranging from climate change to ensuring that technology giants act in the public interest will hinge on creating a new constitutional consensus. Trying to place more sympathetic justices on the Supreme Court is not likely to be a fully adequate remedy,” Harris stated in the column.

He then wrote, “There are more fundamental challenges embedded in the document itself — in particular the outsized power it gives to states, at a time when the most urgent problems and most credible remedies are national in character.”

The Politico editor then whined about how supporters of the former president hold the Constitution in super high regard, so high it is almost divine in nature.

“Expressing solemn reverence for the Constitution has become a way of signaling right-mindedness across the political spectrum, even among Trump supporters whose actions plainly undermine constitutional order. In much of this rhetoric, the Constitution is elevated from a secular document to a sacred one, infused with mystical dimensions,” Harris proclaimed.

Well now, if you are of the mind that the Founding Fathers were heavily inspired by the Bible, one could say that the Constitution is imbued with a touch of God’s divine wisdom. And that might be what sets this founding document apart from so many others around the world.

Harris did go on to admit there is something that is “wondrous and enduring” about the Constitution, he doesn’t hold that same level of reverence for it as a lot of conservatives do. Which is obvious by the ludicrous suggestion of rewriting it in order to somehow stop Donald Trump from doing whatever it is Harris is afraid he’s going to do.

“Another answer, however, is: Who cares what [the Founders] thought then? The Constitution was written at a time when states were indeed foundational — a central part of people’s identity and way of life. This has not been true for nearly a century, as both national government and national identity have become stronger,” he continued in his political blasphemy.

The Politico editor then provided a list of several amendments he would like to see added to the Constitution, the vast majority of which were — surprise, surprise — built around major pieces of the liberal agenda. A few of those include “altering or abolishing the Electoral College, term limits for the Court creating some check on abuse of the pardon authority,” and then cleaning up the “infuriatingly murky language of the Second Amendment.”

I have a sneaking suspicion that the whole bit about pardon authority is stuffed in there so that those who are busted for speaking truth against the liberal agenda won’t be able to get out of jail and start raising a fuss. Liberals really are a twisted, totalitarian lot.

Folks, the Constitution is fine as it is. In fact, part of the reason our nation is in such bad shape right now is not because of failures or flaws within the document, but because progressives and other career politicians in both parties refuse to follow it to the letter.

Let’s try doing that first.
