Legal Expert: District Attorney Could Be Disbarred Over Trump Case

(Liberty Bell) – Whether or not there were actually plans to arrest President Trump last week is irrelevant. The strategy to discuss the possibility publicly has worked really well as a defense tactic. We can only surmise but it seems quite telling that the grand jury in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s prosecution of Trump abruptly canceled deliberations for two days in a row. No matter the reason, it’s certainly a setback for Bragg.

Bragg likely hoped his unconstitutional, legally shaky case would be renewed come Monday but the truth is, over the course of the last week the corruption of the entire charade has been clearly exposed. Bragg might end up being the one in hot water.

Former Harvard Law School professor and constitutional expert, Alan Dershowitz, explained why NYC’s top prosecutor might see disbarment over his zealous efforts to “get Trump.”

In a sane world, that is. We are living in Clown Town, however, where there’s never any accountability for rabid leftists driven by hatred and blatant political bias.

Nonetheless, Dershowitz discussed the possibility during an appearance on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo. He succinctly broke down how Bragg is playing a dangerous game and could (and should) be the one to face legal ramifications after elevating serial liar and convicted perjurer Michael Cohen as his star witness.

Cohen is a former Trump lawyer who allegedly facilitated the supposed “hush money” payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, which is not a crime in and of itself. Even former President Bill Clinton attempted to pay for Monica Lewinsky’s silence while in office.

Cohen is the piece holding Bragg’s entire shoddy case together but now it’s been turned into a kamikaze mission. If he moves forward with Cohen as the star witness in his witch hunt, the rogue DA might instead be killing his own career.

After being asked for his assessment on where he sees Bragg’s case against Trump going this week, Dershowitz responded, “I don’t think an indictment can actually come forward now after the comments made by Costello,” he said, referring to Robert Costello whose testimony last week indicated the serious issues with Cohen’s credibility.

“He has proved that the main witness is gonna be a perjuring liar on the witness stand, and that puts the district attorney in a terrible position,” he continued. “If he uses Cohen as a witness, he could actually lose his bar license. It’s unethical to put a witness on the stand who you know is lying and he has to know that Cohen will be lying.”

“Or he tries the case without Cohen which is very difficult, or he does the right thing, he drops the case,” he stated.

“There can be no doubt in anyone’s mind that Michael Cohen has great difficulty telling the truth,” Costello asserted. “He is, after all, a convicted perjurer, and our track record with Mr. Cohen convinced us that he was a serial liar.”

Costello appeared on Fox News with host Tucker Carlson last Monday, and explained Cohen’s state of desperation which has pushed him to be willing to state untrue things to save his own tail after the feds raided his office in 2018.

“Now, what he’s saying is I’ll lie, cheat, steal, shoot somebody, to not spend a day in jail. Do you think a guy whose mentality is that is going to not admit that he has information on Donald Trump?” Costello asked.

Dershowitz further added, “maybe grand jurors would finally wake up and say ‘No, we’re not ham sandwiches here. We’re gonna stand up for the law and the law says you don’t indict under these circumstances.”

We can only hope. It’s time for someone to do the right thing in this debacle of a legal charade.
