ALERT: Republican National Committee Sues Google For ‘Censorship’ Of Fundraising Emails

(Liberty Bell) – Google has been working for the Democratic Party for years now and it’s been no secret. The company has come under fire for allegations that its algorithms unfairly suppress conservative content. This has been obvious to any conservatives who have ever tried to “Google” anything related to politics in the last 6 years.

Now, the Republican National Committee (RNC) is suing Google for allegedly routing political emails from the organization to spam.

The RNC said in a complaint filed on Oct. 21, that Google had filtered millions of fundraising and get-out-the-vote (GOTV) RNC emails to the spam folders of potential donors and supporters.

The RNC claims that Google has intentionally interrupted communications at pivotal moments during election fundraising in order to do the most damage.

“The timing of Google’s most egregious filtering is particularly damning,” the complaint states, alleging that Google sends nearly all of the RNC’s fundraising emails to spam around the end of the month, when its fundraising efforts are typically most successful.

The lawsuit alleges that so many of its emails are being “predictably throttled” that it’s costing the RNS revenue which is especially a problem just ahead of the midterm elections.

“This harm is irreparable and must be stopped,” the complaint states.

The RNC contends this “discrimination” has been going on for nearly a year and that they’ve tried to communicate with Google about the issue but that their efforts have failed.

“Enough is enough–we are suing Google for their blatant bias against Republicans,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel remarked.

“For ten months in a row, Google has sent crucial end-of-month Republican GOTV and fundraising emails to spam with zero explanation. We are committed to putting an end to this clear pattern of bias,” McDaniel added.

A Google spokesperson told Axios that “we simply don’t filter emails based on political affiliation.” This statement is simply not true at all. Anyone who uses Google knows that the company clearly filters emails based on political bias.

As someone who routinely sends and receives political content via email, I can personally attest that there have been times when Google has flagged political content and sent it to spam folders.

The political bias is blatant and shameless.

Big Tech companies have long been biased against conservative viewpoints and there has been no hiding their efforts to suppress free speech on their platforms. For the most part, the tech companies have routinely denied engaging in such activities but their practices are obvious and blatant. Americans can clearly see what’s happening.

Republicans have been fighting against Big Tech to end the unfair censorship. Earlier this year they introduced a bill that would require tech platforms to share how their filtering techniques work and it would also make it illegal to put campaign emails to spam unless requested by users.

“New evidence suggests Big Tech companies are purposely filtering out Republican campaign materials, putting free speech—a foundational tenet of our democracy—at risk once again,” Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), co-sponsor of the bill, stated in a press release in June.

In a statement announcing the introduction of the Political Bias in Algorithm Sorting (BIAS) Emails Act, Republicans pointed to a study that revealed Google’s algorithm filtered nearly 70% of emails from GOP campaigns to spam compared to just 8% of emails from Democrat campaigns.

Gee, it must just be a coincidence. Obviously no one’s buying that. It’s time for this outrageous political bias to be put to an end.
